In Episode 11, there are no more eliminations so the atmosphere onstage was more relaxed and the boys all just enjoyed their moment in the spotlight. Again there are three rounds. Round one: Power Dash; Round two: Vocal Dash; Round three: Love Dash.
This time around, I’ve kept all of Red Team’s interviews so it’s not just a Xiao Zhan cut, but a Red Tea cut just to get an idea of Xiao Zhan’s journey with his Red Team.
Doesn’t Xiao Zhan look so good in the pilot uniform??? I think that was a nod to the old Hong Kong TVB Drama ,”Triumph In The Skies,” which was a pretty popular drama back in the days.
Not being bias here, but in my opinion, Red Team’s “Fire In The Heart + UpTown Funk” performance was way more entertaining than the White Team’s “Lose Control.” Everyone was giving a topnotch performance and they had such good rapport with each other. The vocals were topnotch, too, and they had that surprise transition in the middle which was so charismatic and unexpected. THAT is entertainment.
Fun fact for all non-Chinese speakers, I just want to share a bit about what Bai Shu said when he told the BOSS group that they “want to show them a bit of colour.” This saying actually means that “we will teach you a lesson, we will give you a taste of your own medicine.” That’s why the BOSS group reacted with open mouths. haha
What annoyed me was Long DanNi’s “critique” of Xiao Zhan. Like what channel was she watching? Cuz Zhan Zhan certainly does not have the same expression when he sings ballad and uptempo. I will admit that back then in 2015 and 2016, Zhan Zhan was still very much a newbie and tends to furrow his eyebrows a lot when he sings uptempo, but aside from that, he is definitely not lacking in expression.
The second round was “Vocal Dash” and the Red Team cooperated with Yu KeWei to sing the Beatle’s “Love Me Do.” Zhan Zhan was so cute playing the harmonica and then when they all took off their shoes, he did a little shuffle. haha Was the stage really that cold??
The third round was Love Dash and it was, in my opinion, the most emotional and the most outstanding performance ever!!! They really brought out the waterworks! I really enjoyed this performance the most because it’s so raw and genuine. Zhan Zhan, you really are blessed with the best set of parents ever! And we, XFX, will always be grateful to your parents for bringing such an amazing son like you into the world!
