We have arrived at Episode 12, the finale, the final battle. This time each battle round is voted on by the audience. On top of it all, this is a live broadcast, not prerecorded. The total points is 1000 points. The group who achieved 501 points in episode 12 will win the status to debut in a boy group. The points are tallied in four sections. Based on the previous episode, Team Chun Chun gained 50 points while Team Shu Qi gained 100 points. This time the 90s generation voting panel has grown to 200 participants, and they will also cast their votes for each round. There will also be a special guest who will cast her votes as well as the BOSS panel casting their votes. Audiences watching the live broadcast will also be able to cast their votes through different social media channels. At the start of this episode, Team Chun Chun leads in the online votes.
The show opens with all 16 competitors performing X-Fire’s title song “Be A Man.”
Again, the four rounds all are themed: First round = “Burning Attitude Final Battle”; Second round = “Burning Choreography Final Battle;” Third round = “Burning Spirit Battle.”
The total points for round 1 is 200 points with 100 coming from the 90s generation and the other 100 points from the BOSS panel. For round 2, total points is 250 points with 100 coming from the 90s generation, 100 points from the BOSS panel, and 50 points from special guest, Jolin Tsai. Round 3, total points is 400 points with 200 coming from the BOSS panel, and 200 coming from sections A & B 90s generation.
Ah the final episode with my favourite song, “The Brightest Star In The Night Sky.” Of course, it was not the 2016 Xiao Zhan who drew me out of the kitchen to the living room to investigate who was singing. X-Fire never aired on our Canadian Chinese channel back then. It was the 2020 Xiao Zhan performing this song on CCTV that caught my ears and moved me to search for the song and the singer. Xiao Zhan, your voice is the most soothing, most warm, most passionate voice I’ve ever heard. And I am forever grateful my TV was turned to the right channel to be able to catch your performance.
