In Episode 9, both teams only had 120 hours to prepare and finalize all their performances. Furthermore, this time the total votes is 15 votes so there is no more possibility of drawing another tie. This also means that this is an elimination episode: the team who manages to gain 8 votes first will all be safe, while the other team will face a team member’s elimination.
When ZeXi stuck out his tongue, Xiao Zhan said to him “Don’t stick out your tongue.” Then Bai Shu said to Xiao Zhan, “I repeatedly stuck out mine when you told him [ZeXi to stop sticking out his].” And the face and gesture Zhan Zhan made afterwards reminded me of all the Korean dramas I watched when they get pissed off and gestured to slap the person. hahaha I think Zhan Zhan watched quite a bit of K-dramas with his mom back in the days. And maybe he still does.
In this episode, again there are three rounds: Round one – Theme “Young” Stage Battle; Round two – Rap Battle; Round three – Mystery Guest Collaboration Battle.
For the Round Two: Rap Battle, both teams must write a 1million characters rap lyrics. Gu JiaCheng repped the White team to write rap; Bai Shu repped the Red Team to write the rap. Honestly, Bai Shu and ZeXi should’ve won that rap battle! Their flow was better, they put in the right amount of angst and the song was good! But sadly, they didn’t even get one vote!
Round Three: Mystery Guest Collaboration Battle, my favourite song was the Red Team’s song hands down. Honestly the song, that performance, EVERYTHING about it screams a winning performance! And I’m not bias because Zhan Zhan is on the Red Team. I prefer the Red Team’s song to the White Team’s There’s texture to the Red Team’s blended voices! It just sounds so delicious.
But hey, the show is rigged and the Red Team ended up losing to the White Team by one vote and ZeXi, who showed the most improvement in this episode with flawless singing, ended up getting eliminated. Boooooooo
