Back in the first half of 2015, when you were making your daily commute to work, your footsteps retracing the shadows of footprints left from the previous day, rushing with the masses to catch the same train, being pushed into a car with your face plastered against the door watching life flow by below…Your mind wandered and wondered if this was all life has in store for you, if this same routine day in and day out was all there is for you. Knowing in the next couple of minutes you will be sitting back at your desk rushing another design deadline and working into the wee hours of the night. Stressed was a word that you wished you can turn on its head into desserts.
As you watched the familiar scenes below you flow by, your mind drifted back to your university days. Standing on the stage, the lights shining on you, your peers cheering and shouting your name. The adrenaline pumping in your veins in time to the music, the warmth from the spotlight on your face as you sang out the first verse. You were seen. You felt seen. Your existence was acknowledged and remembered—They were shouting your name, cheering you on. You missed that feeling…and then reality hits, the speed of the train taking you far away from that fleeting time.
How many times were you overwhelmed with emotions on that train while in your nostalgic haze? How many times did you shed a few tears because you yearned to see a different sky? To break away from this routine? You wanted to climb.
And thankfully an idol survival show offered you that ladder.
And we, your XFX, are forever thankful that you took it.
I think back then, not even in your wildest dreams did you ever think you’d have a colossal fan following one day.
I am thankful that I discovered your existence back in the fall of 2020. I am thankful that my TV was turned to the right channel at the right time to catch your “Brightest Star In The Night Sky” performance. Since you entered the entertainment industry, you’ve become a guiding star to so many. Thank you for staying true to your original intentions. Thank you for never losing your special Xiao Zhan 有趣的灵魂 spark. 你依然是肖战！Thank you for your hard work, self-discipline, and dedication to every project that you tackle. You are right: whatever others can do, you can do too and you’ll do it even better!

Over these last six years, more and more XFXs have found their way to you, walking this journey together with you. And we are still only a few chapters in at chapter six. There are still so many more chapters to be written, many more great works to be created, many more characters to be discovered.

After all, an interesting soul is a rare spark of creation that is very difficult to come by.
We see you. We are forever lucky to have you, Zhan Zhan. 小飞侠永远都在！Come hell or high waters, we will find our way to you to cheer you on. This is a promise.👊
