Xiao Zhan flew to Macau on September 27 for a soundcheck rehearsal in preparation for The Greater Bay Area Film Concert 2025, held on September 28 at Galaxy Arena. This time, Xiao Zhan performed one song — “Music All Night” (《整晚的音乐》), originally by Harlem Yu (庾澄庆) from the late 1980s — and brought his own band on stage!
Some memorable moments from that evening include:
Two of my American friends flew all the way to Macau and managed to snag tickets to the concert! That’s right — they got to see Xiao Zhan perform live and be part of the Red Sea! I’m so jealous! Hahaha

This year, Xiao Zhan’s assigned seat was at Table 4, one of the two center-front rows. It looks like his seatmate was Hong Kong singer Joey Yung, whom he had already met earlier this year during Milan Fashion Week.
Xiao Zhan didn’t take his seat at the table until an hour and 24mins into the concert. During the song “Bay” 《湾》Xiao Zhan stepped out and waited in the shadows until the singer on stage finished the song before walking quickly to his table. You can pretty much guess the moment when Xiao Zhan stepped into the venue because XFX Kettle Band just went off. The frequency was through the roof!
At their table, Xiao Zhan was greeted by Wang LeeHom, Jackie Chan, Albert Yeung, founder and chairman of Emperor Entertainment boss, and singer Sun Nan. Jackie motioned to Xiao Zhan to take the empty seat next to Wang LeeHom to be closer to chat. Later, when Joey Yung came back to the table, Xiao Zhan gave the seat back to Joey and even straightened the chair for her. Such a gentleman!
During the performance of “Passing on the Source” 《传源》, Joey Yung’s boss motioned for Xiao Zhan, Joey Yung, and Wang Leehom to take a photo together. Afterwards, Joey’s manager snapped a group photo of everyone at the table.
Looks like it was pretty warm inside the venue! 😂 They hadn’t even gotten into the next song yet when Xiao Zhan started fanning himself. Later, during “Whenever It Changes” 《每当变幻时》, Joey seemed to ask if he was feeling hot — then gestured that she was cold. Xiao Zhan immediately offered her his jacket, but she waved it off like, “No, no, it’s okay!” Hahaha
We love seeing how relaxed Xiao Zhan is and how much he’s enjoying the music at the GBA concert!
Later, during the song “Pride” 《骄傲》, Joey and Xiao Zhan took a wefie together.
I think Xiao Zhan really likes jazz music — he was totally vibing to “Blue Cheongsam” by Fan Xiaoxuan (Taiwan, China) and even singing along. Our music-loving Xiao Zhan is basically a walking jukebox! 😂
I love watching Xiao Zhan’s reactions — hahaha! This was during “Big Sea” 《大海》 performed by Xiao Shenyang (Mainland China) and his daughter Shen Jiayun’s (Mainland China) performance of “Beautiful Sunday” 《美美 Sunday》. 😂
During the performance of “What If” 《如果的事》 by Christine Fan (Taiwan, China) and XiLinNaYi Gao (Mainland China), an unknown person somehow made their way down to the VIP table area and harassed Xiao Zhan for an autograph and a selfie. 😡 It got to the point where Joey Yung was seen giving her manager a look for help. Just as her manager was getting up to handle the situation, an event crew arrived and dragged the person away. Seriously, the event organizers need to improve security and respond faster!
Anyway, enough about that crazy person — let’s get back to enjoying Xiao Zhan in his element, soaking up the music! 😄 I love that he’s rocking out to every song. During “Never Left” 《没离开过》 performed by Lin Zhixuan (Taiwan, China), Joey Yung noticed him fanning himself and offered her fan, which Xiao Zhan politely declined. Hahaha! Another highlight was when the camera suddenly panned to Xiao Zhan — he reacted with a big, surprised smile, and the venue erupted with ZHAN ZHAN!!!! cue XFX kettle band 😂
Xiao Zhan was once again rocking out to another song! 🥰 This time, it was “Perseverance” 《执着》 performed by Tian Zhen (Mainland China).
And then he really got into singing along to “You Are My Eyes” 《你是我的眼》 performed by Xiao Huangqi (Taiwan, China) and Ren Jialun (Mainland China). Hahaha, our Xiao Zhan really loves his music!
That moment during “Love You Fiercely and Deeply” 《狠爱狠爱你》 performed by Ivana Wong, when Xiao Zhan’s ears perked up and he had that I-don’t-understand-the-lyrics moment because it was in Cantonese — but he still proceeded to rock out to the music. Hahaha 😂 Gotta love him!
During the second roundtable interviews, Jackie Chan passed candy to everyone at the table. Later, Albert Yeung motioned for Joey to switch seats so he could take a photo with Wang Leehom and Xiao Zhan, and then later with just Xiao Zhan.
And Xiao Zhan continued to rock out to another Cantonese song, “Ka La Always OK”.
During the song “Your Future” 《你的未来》, Xiao Zhan and a few others at their table were given a stuffy. Then Jackie Chan exclaimed, “Why didn’t I get one?” So Xiao Zhan offered him his stuffy — only for Jackie to toss it back at him like, “You young people keep your stuffy.” Hahaha! And then you could see Xiao Zhan drumming along to the music on his stuffy. Hahaha!
Next, Xiao Zhan sang along to “Descendants of the Dragon” 《龙的传人》 performed by Li Jianfu (Taiwan, China) and Hu Xia (Mainland China). You might remember that Xiao Zhan also performed this song back in his university days!
Joey Yung left her seat during the brief pause before the hosts introduced Ling Feng, a prominent veteran Taiwanese artist credited as a bridge connecting Taiwanese and Mainland entertainment and entertainers. After that, someone was seen going over to greet Xiao Zhan. Hmm… who could it be? Well, after reviewing all angles of the same frame, it turned out to be Taiwanese singer Lin Yilun, who likely stopped by to wish Xiao Zhan a good show since Xiao Zhan would be performing before him.
During the conclusion of Ling Feng’s segment, Xiao Zhan was called to get ready backstage. GYAH!!!!!! Our Zhan Zhan is about to take the stage!!!!!! The venue erupted with the XFX Kettle Band the moment he stood up. I swear, every move he makes sets the kettle band off. Hahahaha!

There was an interview where the event organizers revealed that the original plan was for Xiao Zhan to walk out only after the hosts finished speaking. But Xiao Zhan asked if he could come out earlier to get ready onstage. The organizers were concerned that if he came out early, the screams would drown out the hosts. Xiao Zhan didn’t think that would happen — he thought it would be fine. Hahaha, our Zhan Zhan really underestimated his effect! 😂
Because in the official broadcast, you can 100% hear that the moment Xiao Zhan stepped onstage, the entire venue erupted. Hahaha! The hosts’ last few sentences were almost completely drowned out! Hahahaha!
It’s funny how Taiwanese singer Lin Yilun peeked from backstage at Xiao Zhan onstage and the pandemonium happening around him. Hahaha! Also, all the crew backstage had their phones out, recording every moment. 😂
It still blows me away how almost everyone in the audience was there to see Xiao Zhan. Just watch this video and see! The moment Xiao Zhan steps onstage, the XFX kettle band goes off. Even veteran Taiwanese singer Li JianFu was amazed by Xiao Zhan’s red sea—XFX really brought their A-game and lit up the place! Hahaha!
XFX’s Kettle Band never disappoints! Some powerful pipes here—can even rival Xiao Zhan’s! Hahaha! Even the regular audience was amazed and joined in on the hype!
After Xiao Zhan finished his performance, the next singer, Taiwanese Lin Yilun, walked onstage, catching the tail end of the XFX screams for Xiao Zhan. He said, “Oh my goodness. You all love Xiao Zhan, right? I also loved his performance. He sang very well.” Hahaha! Xiao Zhan looked surprised when Lin Yilun said, “You all love Xiao Zhan, right?” and he laughed. Hahahaha! YES, WE LOVE YOU ZHAN ZHAN!!!!!!!!

Anyway, back to the GBA concert. Just when Xiao Zhan was getting ready to leave, thinking he was done, the event organizers called him back to return to the table. Hahaha, really — how could they let Zhan Zhan go? He is the main event! 😂 It turns out Ling Feng wanted to talk to him, and they even took a wefie together during Lin Yilun’s “Through The Moon Full of Flowers” 《透过开满鲜花的月亮》 performance.
And here’s Xiao Zhan rocking out to Wang Leehom’s “The Sun and Moon in My Heart” 《心中的日月》 performance. The moment the cameras captured Zhan Zhan on the big screen, you could hear the screams erupt! Hahahaha!
During Sun Nan’s “A Song For All Friends” 《给所有朋友们的歌》 performance, Wang Leehom returned to his seat and gave Xiao Zhan a thumbs-up for his performance. Zhan Zhan was so humble! Hahahaha
Xiao Zhan really knows a lot of songs! Here he is singing along to Jackie Chan and Joey Yung’s “Everyday of My Life” 《在我生命中的每一天》. I’d never heard of this song before, but it looks like Zhan Zhan is totally familiar with it! Hahaha — a walking jukebox for real! It was hilarious when the camera showed Xiao Zhan on the big screen again, the crowd erupted, and Joey sneaked a peek at the screen to confirm that the screaming was all for Zhan Zhan. Hahahaha
Regrettably, Xiao Zhan had to leave the venue during Jackie Chan and Joey Yung’s last song, “Understand My Heart” 《明明白白我的心》, but you could see he was ready to jam along — because yes, he also knows this song! Hahaha. The XFX kettle band was really in tip-top shape errupting at Xiao Zhan’s every move! Hahaha
