Between late 2016 and early 2017, Xiao Zhan and his X-Nine brothers took part in filming bit parts in the first movie of their careers—Monster Hunt 2 《捉妖记2》. Monster Hunt’s principle actors started filming in Oct 2016 and Monster Hunt 2 wrapped up filming on February 24, 2017, so it is presumed that Xiao Zhan and his X-Nine bros started their dance rehearsals in the summer before their September debut. This would explain how producer, Bill Kong, came to know X-Nine and became Xiao Zhan’s promoter on the day of X-Nine’s debut.
