Episode summary
16 competitors have now been split up into two teams—White Team & Red Team—and are ready to move in to their dorms where they will be living for the next three months.

Early in the morning, Chun Chun, mentor for the White Team, arranged for her team to meet her at the go-kart race track. This will be her first class with them and will also give her chance to see how each team member reacts under pressure when they’re put in competition mode. All teams will compete and the winning team will win an Easter Egg—the privilege to decide if they want to perform first or last.
***Side note. I kind of feel cheated because the show cutout Xiao Zhan’s race scenes. Like comeon! I wanna watch him drive darn it!
Meanwhile, Shu Qi, mentor for the Red Team, and her assistant, Xiao Bai, head over to the Red Team’s dorms to check on the boys, especially the boys who placed seventh and eighth place. Hopefully, their self-confidence hasn’t taken a serious hit. This will also be a good time to check on how each member of her group reacts first thing in the morning when they are woken up. The first room they went in was Xia ZiGuang and Chen ZeXi’s room. Armed with a cat toy, Shu Qi tries tickling them awake. But both slept like logs. The second room they went in was Xiao DeJun and Dai YunFan’s room. They turned on the lights and…the guys began screaming. The third room they went in was Peng Chu Yue and Bai Shu’s room. This time armed with a water gun with the plan to spray them awake, but after a few squirts Xiao Bai’s shadow by the bed made Peng Chu Yue scream which pretty much woke up everybody. The final room they went in was Lu SiHeng and Wang YuWei’s. They opened the door and found an empty room! The guys were up early and rehearsing already! Of course, the stakes are high for them since they ranked last place in the first round. It turns out the previous night, Lu SiHeng and Wang YuWei practiced until 3am-4am and that next morning they woke up at around 8am-9am to practice again.

I won’t go into too much detail about the episode because the videos are right up there. So I will just highlight some things that stood out for me.
My heart hurts seeing Xiao Zhan in pain. Watching this 24 year old Zhan Zhan, is like watching a precious little brother, who left home for the first time, on tv and seeing him in pain—swollen knee and a lost toenail.
On a different note regarding Xiao Zhan, he shared a bit about his thoughts on his performance in his November 27, 2015 weekly vlog here.
Honestly, I really don’t have a very good impression of Dai YunFan here. Right off the bat he said, “I only wish to be paired with someone older than me. I don’t really like to be with someone younger than me.” With this confession, it shows he looks down on Xiao DeJun, who’s two years younger, and he doesn’t consider him as his equal. Xiao DeJun felt it too. He said “It feels like we’re not a good match. He doesn’t treat me as a team.” How can you survive a survival show and stay in the competition with this negative attitude? With this lack of cooperation, YunFan pretty much hammered the final nail in the coffin and sealed their fate to get eliminated. I feel really bad for DeJun here. He didn’t have a choice whom he got paired with.
I really really feel that Bin JunJie and Guo ZiFan were unfairly ranked in this round. Seriously, the bias of the judges are so blatant it’s blinding! There was NOTHING wrong with their performance. In fact, I would even dare to say that it was flawless and one of the BEST performances in this episode! But because the one judge said that JunJie did not sing “Beat It” like the original Michael Jackson version, but more like his《天空》version (the song he sang in the first episode), they got ranked that low??? So much bias! I mean they took “Beat It” and made it their own like any real artist would! I think they were all bias against him because of his appearance. Even Shu Qi asked him in this episode, “JunJie can you lose some weight? Because idols should have beautiful body lines.” Aye….the superficial E-industry strikes again: short and stout just doesn’t sell.
