Today, the Oath of Love has reached the finale. In just over half a month, I have been chasing the drama together with all of you, I got closer to Gu Wei’s parallel world from an audience perspective, and once again experienced his ordinary, simple, and warm “Gu” story.

Lao Gu is responsible to his patients, respectful to his family, and sincere to his lover. He met a girl who barged into his life, unconsciously from going solo to becoming a couple, from a small family growing into a big family. In love stories, many people always ask, “Why did you fall in love with me?” Can love really be built from concrete, certain reasons? Love might blossom in a moment, and maybe there aren’t many reasons that can be clearly explained . Everyone is imperfect, single-handedly groping for a living in society all by themselves. You meet, get to know each other, and fall in love. Whether it’s friends, colleagues, family, or spouse, you need to support and understand each other in order to spend the rest of your lives together. Whether polite and respectful couples, quarrelsome couples, as long as they accompany and love each other, they’re all different forms of mutual support.

We wrapped filming on an early morning in WuXi, the sky was hazily lit, and it was a little chilly. Because of work reasons, I flew directly from the set to another city, and missed the wrap ceremony. Today OOL finally completed successfully; the shaping and growth of this character, the more or less resonance and emotion this drama has brought to everyone, is the result of the efforts of all the actors and staff. I would like to add what I should have said to everyone at the wrap ceremony: I would like to thank everyone in front of the cameras and behind the scenes for their hard work. Every scene, every detail’s completion, every sets negotiation and guarantees are all the result of the whole cast and crew’s hard work and collaboration. I want to give a special thanks to Yang Zi, Lin ZhiXiao’s liveliness and love for her family moved me as an audience. As my most important partner in this drama, we went over the script together, polishing the scenes, and she also helped me to better enter and shape the role. Thank you to the director and script writer, who tirelessly discussed with the cast repeatedly, sculpting every detail that belongs to the characters. And thank you to the producer, it’s your belief that gave me the courage to take on this role.

When we first met, I was moved by your persistence and your sense of responsibility. At the same time, I was also worried. Will your behaviour and decisions at the time be accepted and approved by everyone at that moment in time? How should I present your mission and ambitions and pass them on to everyone? So I discussed and explored again and again with the director. I gradually realized that you are like a big mountain in front of me. No matter how strong the wind blows or how heavy the rain falls, you are unwavering. It seems that all the ups and downs in life will only become the nourishment for the “green pines and cypresses” to grow on the mountain. What you do is never a multiple-choice question. “It’s my life to be a soldier,” “Do the right thing,” “Don’t be a hero, be a winner”…These don’t allow you to choose, but are directly carved into your life. So everything will only be harsher for you. But these didn’t turn you into a cold, ruthless, error-free robot. On the contrary, because of the passion in your blood, the love, and sincerity, yuo have become more determined and full of strength everytime you encounter adversity after enlisting in the army. Having greater sensitivity and perseverance than ordinary people, it allows you to discover a problem immediately and for you to do everything possible to resolve the issues. all of this makes you a complex and inclusive individual.
